A note from Link!7/2/2024 Hello Reader!
Link here. When a chat with my then girlfriend—and thanks to a picturesque proposal in Hawaii, now fiancée—gave me the idea for HyperVigilanté post-Christmas 2019, I had no inkling that it would become more than a handful of pages. But as I sat locked in my room, banging away at the QWERTY while listening to Lionel Richie and gulping down energy drinks, not only did I produce the HyperVigilanté manuscript in three months… But the idea that this story deserved to be a trilogy hit me. Thoughts of more stories percolated as I paid editors, dreamed up cover artwork and found the perfect artist to bring Vlad and Svetlana to life, and worked through the complex process of independently publishing my novel. The idea that this world I’ve created needed at least two more novels to do it justice persisted in the years it took to polish and publish HyperVigilanté, so I smashed away on the keyboard again. And again. The creative process can be delightful but is sometimes both a curse and a blessing. If you are “a creative,” I’m sure you understand. Now I have one published novel, plus HyperVigilanté 2: the Fukushima Connection is in the early stages of the independent publishing process. It’s likely novel two will be available for sale by June of 2025. As HyperVigilanté 3: the Redacted Chapters is already written, I will begin the steps to independently publish that as soon as book two is out for sale. Unfortunately, it takes time and money to make that happen. Hopefully, I will have sales royalties from books one and two coming in to help me pay for art, editing, and publishing. That will complete the trilogy. However, if I have found enough fans willing to buy my superhero novels by then, the universe is eminently expandible. With enough money, I could crank out more novels in this world. Or, if I don’t find enough support for the series from my readers, then I can leave it as a trilogy. It is complete. Nobody will experience that dreaded “you left us on a cliffhanger but didn’t finish the story” feeling that fans of modern television series often run into. Either way, I am the brand, not the HyperVigilanté series. My brain created that, and there are tons more stories bouncing around in this noggin, in realms outside the superhero world I created. Heck, there might even be a non-fiction book or two brewing in this author’s brain. So, once Vlad, Svetlana, and the rest of my heroes, villains, and supporting cast get their three novels, I will shift gears and build other worlds. I’m excited about that. Are you? If you haven’t already, subscribe to my email list, so you can stay up to date on release dates, giveaways, my appearances, merchandise, polls, and whatever other ways I think of to keep you engaged with my characters, worlds, and stories! (You can get me your email right now by sending me a comment... but in the future I'll be upgrading how the email comments work.) Buckle up! Vlad just knocked the lid off a bottle and is guzzling down that sea buckthorn berry flavored goodness, and Svetlana’s just slapped a fresh magazine in her trusty MP-443 Grach pistol! It’s gonna be a wild ride! Link
