Set in western Russia, HyperVigilanté follows Vlad, an enormous young man bouncing between various Russian cities doing construction work as he runs from a past trauma. His world is rocked when he meets a beautiful Russian Army vet named Svetlana, who is struggling with memories of questionable orders she'd followed while in the service.
In a basement in a Pripyat building near the Chernobyl reactor meltdown, Vlad discovers a radioactive energy drink stash that temporarily gives him superpowers. Svetlana first meets him as he is unconscious and in peril in the wake of his discovery. Even though a stranger, she chooses to guard him and ultimately saves his life. The two quickly bond, and over the course of a year fall in love and get married.
The superpower from the energy drink is available to both Vlad and Svetlana and both are strongly guided by their morality, so it's a no-brainer to use the superpower to become vigilante superheroes. Together and apart, both battle evil enemies with and without using their finite supply of the energy drink.
On a trip to England, Svetlana steps up to the plate and saves London from a coordinated terrorist attack she stumbled onto, while back in Russia Vlad battles the Russian mafia. There he encounters a superpowered mob boss who would later kidnap Svetlana, causing Vlad to race to his wife's rescue along with help from a couple friends.
The Fukushima Connection: HyperVigilanté 2 has a tentative release date of May or June of 2025. Check back for more details as they become available!
Karate expert and nurse, Hideo Okamoto, persuades his wife Jen to join him on a Pacific Ocean excursion, but the tranquil day is shattered when their boat sinks. After mysteriously surviving, both are shocked to learn that something deep in the frigid saltwater imbued them with superpowers. Weeks later, a knock at their door introduces an enigmatic stranger who knows too much about that day…
While the duo struggles to balance their nine-to-fives with incognito superhero missions, Mr. Danger and The Texan are as comfortable rescuing pets and busting minor league goons in their hometown as they are battling supervillains’ diabolical schemes. Diving deeper, Hideo wages an inner spiritual battle as Jen embraces the physicality of saving lives beside her husband. During a final fiery showdown atop Mount Fuji, the authenticity of Hideo’s spiritual conversion comes to light.
The Fukushima Connection expands the HV-verse beyond Russia’s Vlad and Svetlana to Japan’s Okamotos. Befitting a book in the series, the couples assist each other in their superheroics. This second adventure juxtaposes the innocence of a freshly bitten Spiderman against the evil plotting of James Bond villains and adds a hint of Star Trek’s interstellar awe. Styled similarly to HyperVigilanté, this page-turner contains another helping of nerdy Easter eggs.
The Redacted Chapters: HyperVigilanté 3 is written and will undergo editing and publishing soon after The Fukushima Connection is published.
This is the moment you have been waiting for. The moment that was hinted at in the first two books. Exactly how did Russia's superheroes Vlad and Svetlana meet Japan's superheroes Jen and Hideo? And what did the four of them do together? The Redacted Chapters provides an explosive and satisfying end to the trilogy.
Please buy it, read it, love it, review it, and tell a friend. If I get enough fans who love my writing to make this profitable for me, I can pick this right back up, and write more stories in the HV-verse. However, if that doesn't happen, the trilogy is complete. I will not have left you with any obvious cliff-hangers, never to be resolved. I hate that when TV shows do that to us. So I won't intentionally do that to my readers!

What readers are saying...
Must read (5 out of 5 stars)
HyperVigilanté is a potent concoction of action, romance, virtue and humor blended in the right proportion
Right off the first page, Vlad strikes us as a righteous stalwart guided by his strong moral compass. His compassion towards the people around him and his work ethics paint him as a near perfect character who we start to fall in love with over the course of the story. He leads what some might call a 'boring' life and almost nothing of interest happens until he stumbles upon a radioactive energy drink cache somewhere near the infamous Chernobyl power plant, not far from Svetlana, the femme fatale of the story. A warm friendship brews between them and together they decide to join hands and put the superhuman abilities harnessed from the newfound energy drink to good use. However, no superhero story is complete without an antagonist force that must be reckoned with and in the final few chapters this story unveils one that makes our hearts race.
In the first half, the author takes his time to introduce the characters and depicts the cute love blossoming between the lead duo. At one point, I was half-convinced that this story is going to be an out-and-out light-hearted romance novel owing to the slow buildup. But the moment the author switched gears, there was no turning back.
The second half is riddled with plenty of tense moments and slick action sequences. It's where things actually get interesting and the plot unravels at a rapid pace. Despite the stark contrast in their upbringing, both Vlad and Svetlana are bound together by their shared beliefs and values which drive them to challenge those evading from the clutches of justice.
The climax, although a bit rushed, will leave you wanting for more. The author intentionally leaves a bunch of unresolved threads, likely setting the stage for future developments, each potentially deserving its standalone spinoff.
If you're a gamer like me who loves AAA/post-apocalyptic games like Fallout and Metro, or someone who loves stories served with a good scoop of pop culture references, profound biblical verses, then this one is for you. I can't wait for this story to be developed into a multi book series because it holds so much promise and lots of ideas waiting to be explored.

Not my usual genre but I enjoyed Hyper Vigilante. Gaming references were totally over my head but I got the references. I like the dry humor thorough out the book and could imagine this story as a movie. Would read future stories.

This creative book crosses into several different genres which makes it appealing for a variety of different audiences. Although I am generally not into action/sci-fi it had entertaining elements for me to appreciate, especially all the 80s and 90s nostalgia. There are many adult themes so I won't let my tween read it until much older but it is clean as far as language. I recommend it as a good read! Looking forward to the next installment.

Hyper Vigilante is a fun and interesting science fiction book. The story brings to life several new superheroes in and around Russia. The story weaves radiation exposure with two ordinary people who want to do good. In the end, they find out more than they wanted.

An easy read with lots of surprises. The super hero storyline mixed with a light hearted love story was entertaining. Loved all the 80s and 90s references!
